Equipment Rentals

We offer a range of kayaking gear and equipment for rental, whether you’re taking a course with us, kayaking recreationally in the Murchison area, or heading further afield. A valid form of ID, a credit card, and a completed Equipment Rental Agreement are required for all hires.

Our gear fleet can accommodate up to 115 kg and 6’2″ (187 cm). Please check with us if you’re unsure.

Hire for Course Participants

Gear hire is included in your course fee for Beginner, Beginner+, and Grade 2 Certificate courses. For other training courses, gear hire is available separately – let us know when booking if you’d like to arrange this. Check your course confirmation and Pre-Course Information for what’s included in your specific course.

If you don’t have your own gear, you can hire ours for $25 per day, covering a kayak, paddle, helmet, PFD, paddle jacket, spray deck, and wetsuit or thermals (see our course gear hire pricing for full details). Gear hire payments made in advance are fully refundable at any time before the course begins.

General Hire

General recreational hire is priced by duration (daily, half day, weekend, extra days, or weekly). See our current pricing or contact us to confirm rates before booking.

Collection and Delivery

If you’re staying local, equipment can be collected from and returned to our Murchison premises during normal business hours. Please book ahead where possible. If you’re taking equipment outside the Murchison area, let us know your itinerary in advance; additional terms may apply, including agreed drop-off and pick-up arrangements, and any extended hire periods.

Rental Eligibility

To rent equipment from us, you’ll need a reliable roll on at least one side, and you’ll need to agree to paddle with a minimum of one other person (no solo kayaking) and to disclose where you’re paddling. Full criteria are set out in our Equipment Rental Agreement below.
