Soph has been working at the NZ Kayak School since the summer of 2009/2010. She started out as a jet-setting kayak explorer and racer, spending six years chasing summers and whitewater in the USA. Some of the paddling was in California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, and Idaho, along with a number of seasons in North Carolina. These days she’s a year-round Murchison local! If you’re looking for Soph, she could be doing one of many things: teaching kayaking, going kayaking, adventuring, working on her deer farm, doing admin for her deer farm, or doing admin for the NZ Kayak School… Realistically, though, most of her time is spent chasing after her two young boys! Soph holds her NZOIA Kayak 2 and is in the process of becoming an NZOIA assessor.
